We have now been selling thermochrons for over 10 years. In theory they have a battery life of 10 years or 1,000,000 readings. And what we are finding is that there aren’t a significant number of people replacing old units yet.
So I’m impressed. Here is a piece of electronics that is lasting longer than the PCs that it was originally configured with. In fact, users have probably replaced their PCs twice before the battery dies. For a device that costs less than a toner cartridge I think that’s great value for money.
BUT we should warn people that we have had some units have the battery fail somewhere between 5 and 10 years. So my personal recommendation is “if you really care about ensuring you have the results, replace the Thermochron after 5 years or each time you replace your PC” (which ever one comes first).
We will also offer a 10% discount for customers replacing an existing unit. You can keep the old unit for less critical tasks.
